BYD launched the Super e-Platform: China’s leading electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer BYD has announced the launch of 1,360 kW high-power EV Chargers with a major step. These charger are based on the ‘Megawat Flash Charger’ technology, which can charge four times faster than the traditional charging system. The most important thing about their is that in just 5 minutes, it can give so much charging to the electric vehicle that it can run for 400 kilometers. With this innovation, EV charging will be as fast and convenient as petrol or diesel.
ByD aims to set up more than 4,000 such high-power charging stations in China, which provides better charging facilities to EV owners and accelerates electric vehicles.
Challenge still on EV charging infrastructure in India
While companies like byd in China are working on superfast EV charging systems, EV charging infrastructure needs to be developed in India right now. However, byd India is constantly working towards strengthening its hold in the Indian market. The company recently introduced a new electric car called Sealion 7 and has also updated 2025 models of its popular Atto 3.
What changed in My2025 version of Byd Atto 3?
Byd has made some important updates in the new model of its Atto 3 electric SUV. The 2025 model of this car has now added a ventilation system for the front seats, which will make driving more comfortable during summer. Apart from this, now this electric car has an all-black interior theme, which gives it a premium look.
Another important update is that now byd Atto 3 LFP (lithium iron phosphate) is coming with a battery. This battery is not only considered more secure, but also more durable and gives stable performance for a long time.
Battery and Range of byd Atto 3
Atto 3 comes in two battery pack options – 49.92 kwh and 60.48 kwh. With small battery packs, this car offers 468 km and 521 km ARAI certified range with large battery packs. This electric SUV is available in the Indian market in three variants – Dynamic, Premium and Superior. Their prices go from Rs 24.99 lakh to Rs 33.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
Since the launch in India, more than 3,100 units of Byd Atto 3 have been sold, which can estimate its popularity.
Will Megavot Chargers come soon in India too?
Electric vehicle charging infrastructure in India is slowly developing, but it may take time to adopt 1,360 kW charging technology introduced by BYD. At present, the charging stations available in India do not support so much power, but in view of the increasing demand of EV, such superfast charging techniques can also be seen in the Indian market in the near future.
If the government and private companies together invest on EV charging infrastructure, then charging the EV in India can be as easy and faster as the traditional fuel. Increasing influence in the Indian market and new innovation of companies like byd can help take further EV revolution in India.
